PROGRAMMA CLIL (Lingua inglese)

American Art

Through the vision of a BBC documentary by Andrew Graham Dion, a critic art, we faced the path of the America Art. In the first episode (looking for paradise) he explores the history of American art (Benjamin West, Audubon). In the second episode he starts his journey at the foot of the statue of Liberty and discovers how same architects and artists helped America remove itself from the influence of Europe (Rockwell, Sloan, Bellows, Hopper). The last episode (what lies beneth) he uncovers the dark side of post war consumerism and the role artists have played in challenging the status quo  (Pollock, Jasper Johns).
