First Period

1. Utopian writers and scientific authors: Utopia, the dream of a non existent land, the Ideal cities in the history of Art, Thomas More: “Utopia”, Tommaso Campanella: “The City of the Sun”, francis Bacon: “New Atlantis and the scientific utopia.

2. Religious reforms and scientific revolution: Luther and Calvin, Kepler’s three laws, Galilei and the scientific method, Newton’s laws of motion.

3. Absolutism and liberalism: Thomas Hobbes and John Locke. The skepticism of David Hume.

Second period

4. The concept of Nature in Modern Philosophyin relationship with a scientific and political knowledge. The rationalists and the modern metaphysics.

5. The Enlightment: moral values and society. File about philosophy of science: Kuhn, Lakatos, Feyerabend.

6. Kant’s criticism: life, works and main concepts. Written test on google form.

7. Idealism: summary of the main characteristcs of Fichte and Schelling’s philosophy. Hegel: the Phenomenology of the Spirit. The Lord and bondsman dialectic.

The points 3 and 5 have changed to follow the Italian philosophy program.
